TLL has a collection of software which Primary Schools can use for reason and logic. Why not give us a ring to talk through the options?
Magic Forest is an ICT based modelling environment. The activities are based on traditional fairy tales and other themes such as space and treasure maps and pupils need to make decisions, the consequences of which can be seen and experienced on screen. Magic Forest uses a pictorial icon language (with integrated speech) to define and change the rules of each character (actions and conditions) and control tablets to control characters or objects with the direction arrows or a mouse. Older pupils can create games by sending messages to scoreboards and life counters.
Building on from Magic Forest, Dragon Pathways is an animated modelling environment designed for older children. Using a similar simple pictorial icon language (with integrated speech), learners can create and change the rules of animated characters within screen-based activities or create their own multi-screen stories - moving characters from one screen to another. With a rich set of animated characters and beautifully drawn backgrounds as starting points, the imagination is guaranteed to be stimulated.
Junior Control Insight is used for teaching control & modelling using a number of animated screen-based simulations. These include: Dream Bedroom, Fun Fair, Haunted House, Inventors Workshop, and many others. Building a system on-screen in Junior Control Insight allows pupils to test their work and learn quickly from mistakes. A simple control language puts the instructions into everyday English helping pupils to think clearly and logically.
